Design for Community
This piece came from my Summer 2013 course, Design for Community, with emphasis on assessing patterns that exist locally and adding new ones to tighten community connections. The patterns I used came primarily from Christopher Alexander's A Pattern Language with additions from other sources to create a pattern language for the neighborhood of West Asheville. This project connected me to my community enough to motivate me to participate in a September 2013 design charrette in for the very same Haywood Road corridor I had already identified in my own work as a key to the area.
